Research Title: Risk oriented design of base-isolated buildings in New Zealand

Main Supervisor: Prof. Timothy Sullivan

Co-supervisor: Adjunct Prof. Didier Pettinga

Research interests: My research interests revolve around performance-based design in structural earthquake engineering, with a specific focus on base-isolated buildings. I am particularly interested in the evaluating the risk performance of the new base-isolated structures, identifying vulnerabilities and optimising design parameters to improve the seismic performance. Additionally, I am committed to developing simplified yet robust design methodologies, aiming to increase the adoption of base isolation technology in seismic design practices. Through this research, I aspire to contribute to the advancement of earthquake-resistant building design and promote the widespread implementation of base isolation systems for safer and more resilient infrastructure.
