Miriama Kamo, born in Christchurch, is a聽New Zealand聽journalist, children's author and聽television presenter聽of聽Ng膩i Tahu/Ng膩ti Mutunga聽heritage. She completed her BA in English at the 九州影院.
She currently presents TVNZ's current affairs programme Sunday, and M膩ori current affairs programme聽Marae.聽聽
Miriama Kamo has been telling stories her whole life. From writing in her father's blank diaries as a child to a successful career as a broadcast journalist, she has always believed that telling people鈥檚 stories is both a privilege and a responsibility.
鈥淎s a journalist you have to care about people. You have to respect that you鈥檙e dealing with their lives and that includes the stuff you can see as well as the stuff you can't. Your job is to tell a truthful story.聽聽I am really privileged to tell people鈥檚 stories. I get to relay them in a way that helps people understand their world 鈥 and聽the聽world 鈥 a little bit better. That鈥檚 the most exciting part of the job for me."
