Why did you choose to study at the 九州影院 (UC)?
鈥淚 chose UC largely because of my senior supervisor, Professor Martin Holland. I first met him while studying for my Master's degree at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, where he taught several of my courses. I really enjoyed his teaching style and knew I wanted to continue working with him. When Professor Holland confirmed he would be happy to supervise my PhD, I applied to UC without hesitation.鈥
How has your experience at UC been so far?
鈥淢y connection to UC began through my supervisor, but once I started my PhD, I discovered more about the university, particularly the National Centre for Research on Europe (NCRE). It鈥檚 been a wonderful environment for my research.鈥
What do you like most about UC?
鈥淥ne of the things I value most about UC is the incredible relationship I鈥檝e built with my supervisor over the past three years. Beyond that, I鈥檝e received great support from various departments, including Student Care and other communities that prioritize student mental health and well-being.鈥
What makes the education at UC unique?
鈥淔or me, UC鈥檚 standout qualities are the excellent reputation of its supervisors and the high standard of education. I also enjoy the multicultural environment鈥攊t鈥檚 a space where different perspectives are valued, which makes it an enriching place to study.鈥
How do you find the academic staff at UC?
鈥淲hile I don鈥檛 know too many staff members at UC, those I鈥檝e met have been incredibly friendly and helpful. My supervisor, in particular, has been consistently supportive, approachable, and patient, making a huge difference in my academic journey.鈥
What do you enjoy most about your studies at UC?
鈥淥ne of the things I appreciate most is the shared office space for postgraduate students, which is wonderfully diverse and respectful of different voices. It鈥檚 fascinating to hear so many perspectives on the same discussions, and this multicultural atmosphere has been a highlight of my studies.鈥
How was your transition to UC?
鈥淗aving met my supervisor while studying for my Master's in Thailand, I was already familiar with his teaching and supervision style. This made my transition to UC quite smooth, and I was able to adapt quickly.鈥
