The 48-hour Health Challenge is a perfect opportunity to engage with some of the big problems facing the Health Sector in Canterbury and New Zealand.

HOW TO APPLY

The 48-Hour Health Challenge is a perfect opportunity engage with some of the big problems facing the Health Sector in Canterbury and New 九州影院and take home part of a $3,000 cash prize pool!

Over the weekend you will work in teams tackling one of the Challenges set by the Health Precinct/Te Papa Hauora. You will discuss and test your concept with experts from the health sector and mentors from the business community.

What to expect

You will go from concept to solution over the course of the weekend. There are several sessions with external experts and mentors throughout the weekend - a great opportunity to test your ideas, assumptions, and hypotheses. UC Centre for Entrepreneurship staff will be provide feedback, advice and guidance throughout the weekend.

You will be working in teams with students from across Christchurch who are also interested in the solving problems in the health sector.

At the end of the weekend each team will pitch to a panel of judges who will judge the concepts.

Ideas developed and pitched during the weekend may be taken up by the Health Precinct and implemented - if this happens participants will have the opportunity to continue to be involved.

Who benefits?

All participants will develop key skills in presenting, creative thinking, problem-solving and teamwork, irrelevant of their chosen disciplines.

As a participant you will strengthen your ability to innovatively and creatively solve problems as well as have the opportunity to create a concept that will impact the health sector in the future.

Who should attend?

The challenge is open to all tertiary students from any degree. It will be particularly beneficial for people looking at careers in the health sector - doctors, nurses, researchers, public health specialists, social and aged care workers, managers, policy makers and consultants.

Do I need a team in advance?

No, we will create the teams for you. All you need to do is register and turn up!

Key dates:

Applications close on: Thursday 2nd May

Launch - Monday 6th May 4.00 - 7.00pm

Challenge - Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th May 9.00am - 6.00pm

The Challenge will be at the CDHB Design Lab. There is lots of free parking and vans will also be provided to and from UC.
