Collaborative Research:

Research in Engineering Geology is multidisciplinary, with many projects involving aspects of rock and soil mechanics, hydrogeology, site investigation, geomorphology, natural hazards, natural resource extraction and environmental studies. As a result of the multidisciplinary nature of engineering geology, research is typically undertaken through collaboration between experts in any of these fields within the听School of Earth & Environment and the Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering, as well as industry collaborators. There is significant external collaboration with international colleagues, local and federal government agencies, geotechnical industry, and other research institutions. The options for research are varied and typically directly applied to improving the state of the art in engineering geology.
