Our political systems in Aotearoa are engaging more with indigenous values and solutions so we can continue to grow as a nation.

This major will help you advocate for M膩ori within politics, promote equity in official processes, and design new policies.

What will my study involve?

  • Choose from a range of courses throughout your degree to customise your study in political science, media and communication, Aotearoa systems, foreign policy, and more.
  • Learn about global policies affecting indigenous communities, such as in Australia and the US.
  • Examine Aotearoa policies and political systems from a bicultural future-focused view.
  • Complete practical projects based on your career goals and interests in M膩ori policy.

Career opportunities

You will gain the professional communication and analytical skills to make positive changes to our policies in Aotearoa.

You may decide to go into a career helping to shape M膩ori goals in our future plans as a nation, and can advise other countries on their indigenous reforms and systems.
