Business & Law Postgraduate Scholarships

UC offers a diverse range of scholarships to support students studying a postgraduate degree. Take a look at some of the postgraduate scholarships available for students studying in the Business or Law disciplines.

HOW TO APPLY

This is a summary list of many of the UC Scholarships that are available for students enrolled in a Business or Law postgraduate* degree at UC.

Each scholarship has different eligibility criteria so check the details of each one to find out if you're eligible.

These scholarships are subject to funding availability and are reviewed each year. TheUC Scholarships Office administers most of these scholarships. Please search ourfor all scholarships currently available.

Business

Scholarship NameScholarship Information

Details: To accelerate personal and professional development for students enrolling in an MBA or PGDipBA.

Value:$32,000 towards tuition fees plus various leadership opportunities for up to 180 points of enrolment.

Closing date: 09 October

Details:To support full time students engaged din the first year of a programme for a research master's degree at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | ӰԺ whose proposed project is relevant to the energy needs of Aotearoa New Zealand. Each year, at least five scholarships are available nationally.Applicants must be citizens of Aotearoa New ӰԺor holders of Aotearoa New ӰԺresidence class visas.

Value:Financial assistance at a value of $8,000 for one year.

Closing date:31 March

Details:To support students towards study for an Honours or Master's degree in Economics or Political Science at the ӰԺ.

Value:Financial assistance with the costs associated with university study, to the value of$16,500 for one year

Closing date:15 October

Details:To support to a promising UC student to continue studying Economics in a research-based degree at the postgraduate level at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | ӰԺ.In the year of application, applicants must have been enrolled full-time at 300-level at the University for a degree with a major in Economics

Value:Financial assistance to the value of $5,000 for one year.

Closing date:01 November

Details:To encourage graduate study into areas relevant to national security.Applicants must be New ӰԺcitizens or permanent residents who obtained at least second class honours, division A, or equivalent in their qualifying degree and have completed academic studies in political science, history, economics or some other discipline that may be considered an appropriate foundation for such study.NB: this is ascholarship.

Value:Financial assistance up to $50,000 per annum normally for one year.

Closing date:01 October

Details:To support postgraduate students in Arts, Business, and Law at the ӰԺ. Applicants must be Aotearoa New ӰԺcitizens or permanent residents.

Value:Financial assistance to the value of $1,500 for one year.

Closing date:01 November

Details: To support students for study towards a master’s degree in Commerce at the ӰԺ.

Value: Financial assistance up to the value of $16,500 for up to 120 points of enrolment.

Closing date: 31 October

Details: To support the intellectual development of postgraduate students in the field of Economics and to advance research capacity in Economics in New Zealand. Applicants must be Aotearoa New ӰԺcitizens orholders of New ӰԺresidence class visas.

Value: Tuition fees at the domestic rate plus mentorship and development support for up to 240 points of enrolment.

Closing date: 30 November (for those planning on commencing in Semester 1), and, if the scholarship was not awarded in the 30 November round, 31 March.

Details: To support students to complete a Business Taught Masters qualification with the UC Business School.Recipients must be studying in one of the following programmes: (a) Master of Business; (b) Master of Professional Accounting; (c) Master of Business Information Systems; (d) Master of Marketing; (e) Master of Financial Analysis; (f) Postgraduate Diploma in Business with courses from (a) to (e) above; or (g) Postgraduate Certificate in Business with courses from (a) to (e) above. Applicants must be citizens of Aotearoa New ӰԺor holders of NZ residence class visas.

Value: Financial assistance to the value of $2,500 per 180 points.

Closing date:15 December (for Semester 1 enrolment - round 1); 01 February (for Semester 1 enrolment - round 2); 01 July (for Semester 2 enrolment) - An application for a qualifying programme will be considered an application for the scholarship - no separate application required. All eligible students will be considered automatically.

Law

Scholarship NameScholarship Information

Details:To support postgraduate students in Arts, Business, and Law at the ӰԺ. Applicants must be Aotearoa New ӰԺcitizens or permanent residents.

Value:Financial assistance to the value of $1,500 for one year.

Closing date:01 November

Details:To support postgraduate research in law that will protect and promote the interests of the public in relation to legal matters in New Zealand. Applicants must be women scholars who are either Aotearoa New ӰԺcitizens or permanent residents.NB: this is ascholarship.

Value:Financial assistance up to the value of $20,000 for study in NZ or up to $30,000 for study overseas.

Closing date:01 February
