To complete your enrolment you'll need to pay your tuition fees, the Student Services Levy (SSL), and any other non-tuition fees specified on your Enrolment Agreement.听 Several payment methods are available.
Payment methods
The Government has announced that Fees Free for the first year of study or training will finish at the end of 2024. A final-year Fees Free policy will replace it, starting from 1 January 2025.
If you are a first-time tertiary learner in 2025, you may be able to get Fees Free for your final year of study or training. If you are eligible, you will need to apply for your entitlement through IRD from 2026 onwards.

If you are planning to pay your fees by听, apply for your loan with StudyLink听as early as possible听to allow time for your loan application to be processed before your courses start. StudyLink recommends you apply by 16 December for the following year's loan/allowance.听
UC is not involved in the administration of loans and student allowances offered through StudyLink. If your student loan is cancelled or declined by Studylink for any reason, your enrolment at UC will听not听be cancelled and you will be liable for听any tuition fees owed.听
When you accept your Enrolment Agreement in听, you have the option to pay your full fees online by Visa or Mastercard using UC鈥檚 payment portal. Alternatively you can call 022 853 2067 to arrange payment by credit card over the phone.听
Please note, from November 2023 payment of fees by credit/debit card will incur a non-refundable surcharge of 1.5% in order for UC to recover the costs associated with this form of payment.
New international students cannot pay the fees estimate on their Offer of Place in myUC and will need to use an alternative method of payment.听

Convera
Convera (formerly known as Western Union) is a payment method for international students. It enables you to pay NZD student fees using your home currency or another international currency.
To pay your fees using Convera:
- Go to the听
- Enter your details (choose the country you're paying from, the amount you're paying, your preferred payment method, and your student details)
- Make payment using your听chosen payment method
- Track your payment status by email and SMS (data rates may apply)
- UC will send you a receipt when payment has been received听

Flywire
Flywire is an easy and convenient way to make international payments to UC from your home country. Flywire鈥檚 mission is to save money for international students and their families by offering excellent foreign exchange rates and no hidden fees.
Depending on your location, payment options can include local bank transfer (telegraphic transfer), credit card, e-payments, e-wallets, and more. You鈥檒l be able to track the progress of your payment online or in Flywire鈥檚 app, plus receive email/SMS text alerts updating you on the status of your payment.
How to make a payment with Flywire:
- Go to听.
- Enter your payment amount and country of origin. On the next page, select your payment method.
- Enter the required information to create your payment booking.
- Follow the instructions for your selected payment method. For debit/credit card payments, enter your card details online to complete your payment in your home currency.
- Flywire will perform the foreign exchange and transfer the funds to UC. Funds are delivered 2-5 business days after they are guaranteed.

Domestic Students
If your fees will be paid by a company, employer or other sponsor, you will be required to听 provide a letter signed by them specifying:
- name and address of the company, employer, or sponsor
- student name and address
- amount to be paid by the company, employer, or sponsor

International Students
If your fees will be paid by a Sponsor, you will be required to provide a Financial Guarantee. 听Financial Guarantees must be on the Sponsor鈥檚 official letterhead and include:
- Full Name and Student ID number
- Start and End date of Sponsorship
- Programme of Study
- Confirmation of what fees are covered by the Sponsorship
- Invoicing details.

Fee scholarships administered by UC will be directly applied to your UC account.
If the scholarship amount is greater than your total fees, the remainder may be paid to you听(please check with either the Scholarships Office or your Department to see if this applies to you).
If the scholarship amount is less than your total fees, your invoice will reflect the scholarship contribution. You need to pay the remaining amount in order to be fully enrolled.
